Malaba is a Duke MasterCard Foundation Scholar and is proficient in SolidWorks, LABVIEW, PSPICE, MATLAB, Maple, Java and Assembly, and is learning Arduino. She speaks Ndebele, Shona and Nyanja, and has intermediate level language proficiency in Spanish and French. In 2014, she served as an intern for Capital Support in London, UK, and as an IT Technician Intern at Capernaum Trust Organization in Zimbabwe, Africa. In 2016, she participated in a DukeEngage program in Zhuhai, China where she taught English, journalism and acting to middle school students and in 2015, she tutored high school students at the Khayelihle Children’s Village orphanage in Zimbabwe. At Duke, she is chairperson of the Duke Career Ambassador Team, which gives feedback to students on their resumes and cover letters, and helps to connect students to employers.
