Dr. Daily is an Associate Professor of the Practice at Duke University. Previously she was an associate professor at the University of Florida in the Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering as well as an associate professor and Interim Co-Chair in the School of Computing at Clemson University. She received her masters and doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab where her doctoral work involved designing and implementing technology-infused learning environments that provide youth an opportunity to learn about themselves, others, and to gain insight into interpersonal dynamics.
Monica Jenkins has spent her whole career helping women pursue professional careers. Prior to running DTech, Monica lived in Silicon Valley from 1987 until 2014 and placed thousands of women in jobs. For over 20 years, Monica was the owner and CEO of Palo Alto-based Town & Country Resources, a nationwide leader in household staffing. Monica grew annual revenue from $200k to $4M and managed expansion to four offices and 50 employees. She was considered an industry expert on in-home staffing and referenced in media such as CNN, Business Week, Kiplinger's, SF Chronicle, SF Business Times, Personal Finance magazine, KRON4, and Palo Alto Weekly. Since moving to North Carolina in 2014, Monica has joined the Board of Trustees for Durham Academy and was an admissions reader for Duke’s Fuqua School of Business prior to DTech. Monica was an integral member of the inaugural DTech program in 2016 and became the Program Director after successfully launching the pilot. Monica’s true passion is connecting people by opening doors and uncovering new opportunities. Monica loves helping tech companies find amazing female talent, placing students in ideal internships, connecting rising stars with experienced mentors, and advising graduates with their dream permanent position.

Professor of Chemistry
Valerie Sheares Ashby is Dean of Trinity College of Arts & Sciences at Duke University. She received her B.A. and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill and completed her postdoctoral research at the Universitat Mainz, Germany in 1994 as a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow and NATO Postdoctoral Fellow. As a researcher, Ashby’s work focused on synthetic polymer chemistry with a present focus on designing and synthesizing materials for biomedical applications such as X-ray contrast agents and drug delivery materials. She is the recipient of the National Science Foundation Career Development Award, the DuPont Young Faculty, and 3M Young Faculty Awards. She is an award-winning educator and has experience at all levels of academic administration. She is passionate about mentoring and leadership and helping underrepresented students pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), and social, behavioral and economics (SBE) fields.
Ravi V. Bellamkonda
Ravi V. Bellamkonda is the Vinik Dean of the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University. A trained bioengineer and neuroscientist, Bellamkonda holds an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering. His graduate training at Brown University was in biomaterials and medical science (with Patrick Aebischer), and his post-doctoral training at Massachusetts Institute of Technology focused on the molecular mechanisms of axon guidance and neural development (with Jerry Schneider and Sonal Jhaveri). His current research explores the interplay of biomaterials and the nervous system for neural interfaces, nerve repair, and brain tumor therapy. Ravi is committed to fostering transformative research and pedagogical innovation as well as programs that create an entrepreneurial mindset amongst faculty and students.
