Nelson is proficient in Java, MATLAB, Assembly, C, JavaScript, HTML5, and technologies such as Eclipse, Arduino, and Logism. She worked as a content development intern for SmartAction in El Segundo, CA in 2016 where she managed and provided expertise on social media, performed market research and analysis, and authored a range of communications materials. She is a technology committee member of the Duke chapter of the Association for Business oriented Women and treasurer for the Society of Women Engineers Duke chapter. She is also the Vice Chair Internal for the Duke Honor Council and membership development committee member for the Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity.
